Spoiled Children of Divorce

Success Story – Charlie Chaplin

Great Film Star and Director Charlie Chaplin was from a Divorced Family.  His Family was the proverbial bad doozy.  His Mom was mentally ill and his Father was alcoholic.  Chaplin and his brother basically raised themselves.  Chaplin writes about his childhood in his Biography in a way that kind of makes it sound fun.  I read the book a long time ago.  Wikipedia gives a bad step-mother story.  And then he became famous for his character “The Tramp.”  Both of his parents were in the theatre and so Chaplin and his brother followed in their footsteps and came to America in their early teens.  His Autobiography was a really entertaining book although I read it so long ago I don’t remember much.

Kids in this type of family should have ways of getting out of a family situation like this as early as possible in life without having to be processed into an institution.  The Social Workers and their clipboards are just on total burn-out from the moment they are hired and to add insult to injury they are threatening.  No kid, let alone adult, should have to try to receive help from that.  Just my opinion, of course. And I don’t have an alternative solution either…
